HEATHEN: Former MERCENARY Guitarist Steps In To Help Old Friends

Sven Soderlund, guitarist and vocalist for the legendary '80s thrash band MERCENARY, has been playing shows around the San Francisco Bay Area with HEATHEN. HEATHEN just played the "Thunder in the North Fest" in Oakland, Ca. on July 31 and are confirmed to support EXODUS on August 27 in Oakland, Ca. No word on who the permanent replacement may be, but for now, Sven has been filling the spot for former member Ira Black (VICIOUS RUMORS). "Ira is a very good friend of mine, and doing this for HEATHEN was basically a favor to old friends of mine from the Bay Area whom I've grown up with," Sven said.

HEATHEN, who recently announced the addition of bassist Jon Torres (THUNDERHEAD, WARNING SF, ULYSSES SIREN, LAAZ ROCKIT, ANGEL WITCH) to the group's ranks, are gearing up to record a new full-length album soon, with additional touring to follow as well.
